Volunteer Requirements for Families of SFYHA

How to Help

Volunteer Hour Checks: All SFYHA families are required to submit a $500 volunteer check that will be deposited ONLY if the volunteer hour requirement is not met by the end of the season. This year ALL families are required to have the volunteer hour check on file with the association BEFORE their skater(s) will be allowed to participate in tryouts for traveling level teams. Mite level skaters will start practices in October and can submit a volunteer check at that time. At pre-skates and tryouts there will be SFYHA Board members present who can accept your volunteer check or checks can be dropped off securely in the gray SFYHA dropbox in the East Bethel Ice Arena entrance. Please include your skater(s) name in the memo line of the check.

As a member of the SFYHA, we depend on the parents and families of our association members to help make everything run as smooth as possible.  We do our very best to provide many opportunities to be involved and help out our association throughout the year.  The following is our Volunteer Policy for the 2023 - 2024 Hockey Year.

Each family is required to volunteer 12 hours of time for the St. Francis Youth Hockey Association by April 1st, 2024.  This requirement is by family and not by player.  Any hours volunteered between the dates of May 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024 will be allocated towards your family's volunteer hour requirement.  SafeSport will count as 2 hours toward your time.  If you fail to fulfill your 12 hours of required volunteer time per family, the St. Francis Youth Hockey Association will cash the submitted check on April 15, 2024 of $500 as a volunteer fee.  This fee is non-negotiable.

Dibs is the tool we use to track and report all volunteer hours for the season.  Each Dibs session will be uploaded in advance of the session and requests for volunteer time will be sent out to the association.  You are always welcome to check Dibs periodically to see what is available and what fits your schedule.  We try very hard to make our volunteer options accessible to the many challenges of busy families.
