Mandatory Coaches Meeting-Date

Here is the following D10 Manadorty coaches meetings.  You must attend one of the following options.

October 14th
Rogers Ice Arena 6-7 pm & 7-8pm

October 21st
Coon Rapids Ice Arena 6-7 pm & 7-8pm

October 23rd
Fogerty Ice Arena 6-7pm & 7-8pm

October 26th 
Princeton Ice Arena 1-2pm

October 28th 
Isanti Arena 6-7pm & 7-8pm

All coaches are reguired to attend.  Please sign in.  If a coach from a team does NOT attend, a D10 fine will be assessed. That fine will be passed to the team for payment.  Please find a date and time to attend.

Attention Coaches!

USA Hockey has updated a few of their coaching rules for the 2019-2020 season.  Please make note of the following changes when preparing for the upcoming coaching season!

  1. SAFE SPORT - Safe Sport MUST be completed (or refresher course completed) prior to participating in ANY hockey related activity, including try-outs.  Please complete your Safe Sport training/refresher course prior to October 1st. 
  2. Age Specific Coaching Modules - Age modules MUST be complete prior to be added to a roster for all levels of hockey.  Please finish your Age Specific module NOW on USA Hockey to be done prior to the start of hockey (...in the past, this could be completed by Dec 31st... NO MORE!  Must now be done prior to roster sign off in October!!)
  3. Concussion Training - Concussion training will now be required EVERY season.  Click below to complete concussion training.
  4. D10 has MANDATORY coaches sessions this fall. Each coach MUST attend ONE session.  The sessions are listed on the right side of the page.  If you do NOT attend, our association will receive a fine for non-compliance.

COAHCES REGISTRATION STEPS - PLEASE FOLLOW IN ORDER

STEP ONE: USA Hockey Registration

CLICK HERE to complete the USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION.  You will need the USA Hockey confirmation number to complete your background screening and SFYHA Coaches Registration.  Cost is $40 plus any affiliate fees.

STEP TWO: MN Background Screening

CLICK HERE to complete the MN Hockey Background Screening.  USA Hockey is now screening coaches nationally every TWO years.  This needs to be completed prior to the start of the season and stepping on the ice. Please remember, it may take 8-9 days for the system to complete the process.  Be mindful of the timing.  This process MUST be completed for rostering, per MN/USA Hockey prior to roster sign-off the first week of November.

The form is completed electronically via MN Hockey.  A confirmation number will be sent to you via email upon completion.

STEP THREE: SafeSport Training

CLICK HERE to complete the SafeSport Training

ALL COACHES are required to complete the SafeSport Training program every two years.  You must have the SafeSport Training completed by roster sign-off, which is the first week of November. No exceptions, per USA Hockey rules. If you do not complete this training, or the required refresher course, you will be red-lined from the roster and not able to continue coaching.

STEP FOUR: Certification Clinic

CLICK HERE to register and attend the required Coaching Certification Clinic (Cost is $40 plus any lunch fees if applicable) you can only attend one clinic per season.  The coaching clinic season for Levels 1-3 officially run from September 1 to December 31.

If you are in need of a LEVEL 4 coaching certificate, there is ONLY ONE DATE for this training in MINNESOTA.  September 22-23 in St. Paul. (St. Paul River Center).

Outside MN, dates are TBD.

STEP FIVE: Online Age-Specific Module

CLICK HERE to complete the online Age-Specific Module for the age level you are coaching. (Cost is $10 per module) The online modules are available September 1 to December 31.

Failure to complete this prior to ROSTER SIGN OFF IN OCTOBER will result in red-line on roster and will no longer be able to coach during the hockey season.

STEP SIX: Concussion Training

For the 2017-2018 hockey season, concussion training is required.  If you need to take an age specific module this year, there will be concussion training included and will count.  If you took a concussion training for another sport, you can use that certification (and the form which is contained in the link below) for your certification.  Or - if neither of those options fulfill your concussion training, you can take the training with one of the links below.  Please keep your certification and be sure to send it to SFYHA's Registrar.

 

CLICK HERE to complete the online Concussion Training.  All coaches receive concussion training which must be renewed every  year.  If this link does NOT work, you may use one of the links below to take a different course.

Check your age specific module to ensure concussion training was complete or included.

If the above concussion link does not work, alternate concussion training courses can be completed via the links below.  Please complete the course, print off the final certification, and complete the form from the MN Hockey page link above.
