SFYHA Youth & SF High School Dual Eligibility Policy
It is SFYHA and SF High School procedure that any player which has youth hockey eligibility left (Bantam/U15 & High School (7th - 10th Grade depending on USA Hockey Birthday window of June 1) must register for SFYHA's Youth Program and participate in the Bantam/U15 level try-out and/or evaluation process. The SF Hockey Head Coach and his/her coaching staff will be invited to evaluate the players who have dual Youth/High School eligibility. If the High School Coach(s) invite the skater to participate in the HS team try-outs, that player will be allowed to leave the youth program and participate in the high school program's tryout/evaluations. If a dual eligible skater is NOT asked to move to high school or participate in the high school try-outs, that player will be placed on the respective Bantam U/15 team per their try-out scores. All fees, with the exception of the USA Hockey fee, will be reimbursed to the skater's family if they are accepted into the high school program.
Registration is a 3 Step Process. Please read the following information carefully:
#1 Register with USA Hockey
All participants MUST register with USA HOCKEY prior to registering with SFYHA. You will receive a nine (9) digit confirmation bar code which needs to be entered into the registration link when prompted. You will have the opportunity to register with USA HOCKEY from within the registration link - or - you may register via their website: www.usahockey.com
STEP #2 - Register with SFYHA On-line
STEP #3 - Drop off Volunteer Check
Each participant will pay the USA Hockey fee and MN Hockey fee if age 7 or older. The USA Hockey fee is waived for age 6 and younger. The registration must still be completed to receive the confirmation number. If a participant plays and coaches he/she pays only one registration fee.
Each registration will pay the fee for the player to USA Hockey and fee for each player to MN Hockey (USA Hockey affiliate). It is District 10 policy to require players to self register with USA Hockey during or before their association registration.
USA Hockey requires this payment for players and coaches as USA Hockey carries SFYHA's insurance. If there are any injuries on the ice, USA Hockey holds that liability so your player or coach is covered.
