2019-2020 Northern Edge Try Out Document

TRYOUT Information

  • All registrations and payments must be complete and up to date
  • Any previous season balance must be paid in full
  • Volunteer check must be submitted
  • Association wide fundraising check must be submitted and raffle tickets picked up

These items must be complete prior to skater receiving a try-out jersey

Basic Try Out Information

  • Check in to try out time 30 minutes prior to start of session
  • Try-out jerseys, with number,  will be handed out to skaters.  They must wear this jersey for all try out sessions.  Jerseys will be handed back IN after each respective session and reissued for the next session.  Please make sure skater receives the same # jersey each session
  • Skaters should wear neutral colored socks.  Last year's Northern Edge socks are ok.  No AAA socks should be worn.  If needed, let check in volunteers know you need a pair of socks and you will be issued a pair
  • No stickers on helmets unless they are Northern Edge stickers.  Please remove any AAA stickers prior to try-outs or your skater will be asked to remove prior to their session.
  • You must be on the ice for all assigned try-out sessions unless previously excused by the Northern Edge co-op Board.  Any unexcused absence will impact your overall evaluation
  • Try-Outs are open and parents may stay inside arena.  However we strongly encourage you to leave the arena so to allow your skater to do his/her best without additional pressures.
    • it is the expectation of spectators they will SIT in the bleachers - OR - be in the lobby of the arena
    • NO children will be allowed to be unattended and moving about the arena during the try out sessions
    • IF distractions occur, you will be asked to leave

Reminder - Parent Code of Conduct

Reminder parents, you have agreed to the SFYHA/NBAHA/Northern Edge Parent Code of conduct upon registration of your skater.  The 24 hour rule for contacting a Board Member or Coach includes phone, text, and social media.  The SFYHA screening process adopted my MN Hockey includes a digital media policy which falls under SafeSport.
