East Bethel Ice Arena Covid-19 Return to Play Protocols

Due to our concern for your safety during COVID-19, the following policy has been implemented for the East Bethel Ice Arena:

  • There will be 15 minutes between ice times. This will mean there will be 5 minutes of dead ice time between each group and NO ONE will be allowed on to the ice rink until your hour starts.
  • Skaters should not show up to the rink until 15 minutes before your ice time starts.  Your group (ice time) will be allowed in 15 minutes prior to the start of your ice session (as a group).
  • Minor athletes are allowed one adult chaperone during their event.
  • Skaters should arrive to the rink with their hockey gear on to limit the amount of time spent prior to ice time.  You are “home dressing” and only putting on your skates and helmet at the arena.  The exception to this rule is for goalies who are allowed to prepare at the arena.
  • Locker rooms will be used only to tie skates and store your shoes.
  • Skaters must be out of the facility no more than 10 minutes after their ice time is done.
  • Skaters should be dropped off and picked up. The skaters will enter the main doors and when the event is over be picked up on the south side of the building.
  • It is the responsibility of parents’, coaches and athletes to adhere to the social distancing guidelines and facial coverings. The City reserves the right to close the arena if Executive Orders of the Governor are not followed.
  • Face masks are required to worn for everyone entering and inside the facility or working in the facility.  The mask can be taken off by players for on-ice activities.
  • Each group will be required to send a COVID 19 policy for their organization for our approval prior to their use of the facility.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available in the arena for staff and guests.
  • The main restrooms will be open and will cleaned prior to and after every practice and event or more frequently if necessary.
  • Locker room restrooms will be locked. Common area drinking fountains will be closed.  The concession stand will not be open for youth hockey practices or events.   Locker rooms will be disinfected hourly or after use.
  • If you feel sick or show signs of Covid-19, please stay home.
  • These guidelines are not just being used at the East Bethel Ice Arena, but also throughout the state at all other facilities.  They are intended to provide for the safest experience for all participants.  It may not seem ideal and perhaps not logical to everyone, but throughout the state, this is what the ice arena facility managers, the MDH, and the CDC have determined to be the best plan for the safest experience for everyone.

We appreciate everyone’s support!!
